TED GAIER

Born in 1964 in Stuttgart. Since 1983, he has lived primarily in Hamburg, with periods in Prague, Munich, and Berlin. Co-founder of the band Die Goldenen Zitronen (since 1984 as an instrumentalist, composer, and lyricist).
Also a theater artist and performer. Long-standing collaboration with Gintersdorfer/Klaßen, 400 asa Zurich. Founding member of the political-activist performance collective Schwabinggrad Ballett and pp1.
Also a music producer, including for Schnipp Schranke and FSK. Theater and film composer. Winner of the German Film Critics’ Award for Best Film Music in 2018. Music video director, e.g., for Chicks on Speed, Die Sterne, and Die Goldenen Zitronen. Winner of the German music video award MUVI in Oberhausen in 2003 and 2014. Other film and music credits: Director (together with Peter
Ott) and music for the feature film “Hölle Hamburg,” 2007.
